Now as you may have already guessed from the name of this Blackjack variant, this game will allow you to surrender your hand. By doing so you will lose half of your initial wager, but should you feel your hand has no chance of winning then it is a fair deal!

Most games offering surrender only let you take it after the Dealer has checked for Blackjack, and this is commonly known as late surrender.

Number Of Decks: Blackjack Surrender can be played with any number of decks but in the most common case it is played with four decks.

Splitting Rules: You can split cards and may make a total of three hands by doing so. You cannot re-split Aces and only one card will be dealt to split Aces. Split Aces that have been split and get dealt a Ten valued card will be classed as a 21 hand and not a Blackjack hand.

Doubling Down Rules: You can Double Down on any two cards, in the game of Blackjack Surrender you may also double down after splitting cards.

Dealer Play: The Dealer will always hit a soft 17 hand. This game is a hole card game so the Dealer will be checking for Blackjack when he is holding a Ten or an Ace. If he has, then he will reveal his hand and the game will be brought to its conclusion.

Online players need to be aware that the entire deck is shuffled before each game begins.

Payouts and House Edge: A Blackjack hand pays 3 to 2, and a winning Insurance bet pays 2-1. The House Edge of the Blackjack Surrender game, when played with four decks is 0.49%.

Blackjack Surrender - Hints and Tips
Even though the surrender option is offered you should only use it when the correct strategy calls for it to be used, by surrendering at the wrong time you will put yourself at a disadvantage.

The only time it is the correct strategy to surrender is when you have a Pair of Eights and the Dealer is showing an Ace. Also is you have 16 and the Dealer has 9,10 or an Ace, or when you have 15 and the Dealer is showing 10 or an Ace. Plus if you have 17 and the Dealer has an Ace then you should surrender that hand also.

If you have a 5,6,7 or an 8 then no matter what the Dealer is showing you should hit your hand. Also if you are holding an Ace then you should Double down, even if the Dealer is showing an Ace, as having already peeked at his down facing card you know he isn't holding a Blackjack.

Grab yourself a strategy card if you are new to the game of Blackjack Surrender as it will show you every single move you should make based on both your cards and the Dealer upcard. You can use them in a land based casino, so don't be worried about being warned off!
