The odds paid out for a receiving a Blackjack hand can vary from game to game and although you may be expecting a payout of 3-2 for getting such a hand this is not always the case.
If you are not getting this payout then it doesn't necessarily mean that you are being conned it could mean that due to the gameplay rules such a hand will receive a lower payout, so below we
shall take a look at when 3-2 is not the norm.
Face Up 21
In the game of Face Up 21 a Blackjack hand will payout at odds of even money, however a player who get a Blackjack
will always win if both he and the Dealer have Blackjack
Double Exposure also pays a winning Blackjack player hand out at even money, in this game both the dealers and players cards are always dealt face up, so you always know what the
dealer is holding.
Super Fun 21
In the game of Super Fun 21 a Blackjack hand pays even money, unless it is in the suit of Diamonds, if it is then this payout becomes a more favourable 2-1.
Blackjack Switch
Blackjack Switch is a popular game even though a Blackjack hand pays even money, the house edge of the Blackjack Switch game, when played with six decks is 0.17%, so even with this lower
than average Blackjack hand payout it is still a good game to play.
Single Deck Payouts
Some casinos will offer you a single deck Blackjack game, which on the face of it looks like it will have a low house edge and make you think you are getting a good deal. That is until you checkout the payouts
listed on the table layout and find it is 6 to 5 for a Blackjack.
This is a very low payout and will have a major effect on your winnings and bankroll,
should you be playing such a game from a single hand shoe with such paltry payouts then you are going are going to bust out 8 times more quickly than you would by
playing a normal 3-2 Blackjack paying single deck game!
As you can see from the above there are a great many different Blackjack payouts, some lower than the standard 3 -2 and a few higher, so it really does pay to shop around and do your homework
before you sit down to play.
Remember that a Blackjack payout is 3 to 2 as standard and find anything less especially in a single deck variant is very poor value and should be avoided. The higher the Blackjack payout
and the more generous and liberal the game play rules the lower the House Edge will be.
