When you are walking around Vegas looking for a single deck game you should be carefully checking for the Blackjack payout odds offered, as several casinos have got one of the worst paying games around.

You may see large signs or banners telling the world they have single deck Blackjack available but most offer odds of just 6-5 on these single deck games instead of 3-2.

Avoid any venue that offers these appalling odds and track down games like the one below which is a true single deck Blackjack game.

Number Of Decks: Vegas Single Deck Blackjack uses just the one deck of playing cards, as the name suggests!

Splitting Rules: You can only split a hand once to make a maximum of two hands. In this game you can split both alike and unalike ten valued cards.

If you Split Aces then only one card will be dealt to each, with a split Ace and any ten valued card being classed as a 21 hand and not a Blackjack.

Doubling Down Rules: If you get dealt any two cards that have a combined total of either 9, 10 or 11 you can Double Down, you cannot however double down once you have split a hand.

Dealer Play: The Dealer will hit a soft 17 hand. This game is a hole card game so the Dealer will peek and be checking for Blackjack when he is holding a Ten or an Ace.

Online Vegas Single Deck Blackjack players need to be aware the deck will be shuffled before the game begins, so you won't be able to count cards.

Payout and House Edge: A Blackjack hand pays 3 to 2, and a winning Insurance bet pays 2-1. The House Edge of the Vegas Single Deck game is 0.35%.

Vegas Single Deck Blackjack - Hint and Tips
There are only a few occasions when doubling down is the correct strategy when playing Vegas Single Deck Blackjack. The first is when you have an eleven, irrespective of what the Dealer is showing you should double down.

Similarly when the Dealer is showing any card from 2 - 9 and you are holding a Ten then double down on those hands also.

If you have a 9 only double down when the Dealer has a 2, 3, 4, 5 or a 6. Finally should you be holding a pair of fives then you should always double down when the Dealer is showing any card from 2 - 9.

Don't double down at any other time for by doing so you will be increasing the house edge and this will have a dramatic effect on the chances of you having a winning session.

Another handy hint is when you have either a pair of eights or a pair of Aces, you should always split them, no matter what cards the Dealer is showing, it will cost you another wager equal to your initial bet but it is worth it in the long run.
