Spanish Blackjack is a very unusual variant which has all of the Ten cards removed from the deck. They are not put into play and as such that means each deck used only has 48 cards in it.

This game also give players a bonus when they get certain hand combinations and these are listed below. The most obvious change in the rules say that a players Blackjack will always beat a Dealers Blackjack. You are advised to fully read through the rules below before you sit down and play as there are several rule changes that makes playing this game very different from any you may have played before.

Number Of Decks: Spanish Blackjack uses eight decks of playing cards, and each deck has had the Ten cards removed.

Splitting Rules: You can only split a hand once to make a maximum of two hands. In this game you can split both alike and unalike picture cards.

If you split Aces then only one card will be dealt to each, with a split Ace and any ten valued card being classed as a 21 hand and not a Blackjack.

Doubling Down Rules: You are allowed to Double Down after you have split a hand. You may also keep splitting upto a maximum of three times, and by doing so you will end up playing four separate hands.

Aces can be re-split and you may also draw or double down to Split Aces. You can also split unalike picture cards.

Dealer Play: The Dealer will hit a soft 17 hand. This game is a hole card game so the Dealer will peek and be checking for Blackjack when he is holding a picture card or an Ace. A players Blackjack will always beat a Dealers Blackjack

You should be aware that if you choose to play Spanish Blackjack online then the deck is always shuffled before the game starts. So card counting will be a waste of time when playing online.

Payout and House Edge: A Blackjack hand pays 3 to 2, and a winning Insurance bet pays 2-1. The House Edge of Spanish Blackjack is 0.38%. You may surrender a hand and by doing so will lose half your stake.

Spanish Blackjack - Bonus Payouts
You will get paid special bonuses for certain hands but be aware that these do not pay on hands that have been double downed.

If you get any five cards that add upto 21 then you will receive a payout of 3:2. If you have a 6, 7 and 8 card of any suit in your hand then that pays 3:2.

Get 3 Sevens of a mixed suit and your payout is 3:2, plus if you get a seven card (or more) 21 then a healthy payout of 3:1 is yours.

Get the 6, 7 and 8 of Spades and the bonus payout is worth 3:1, similarly if you get 3 Sevens of Spades that will pay 3:1 also.

The following hand combinations will all pay 2-1 and these include a six card 21, 6, 7 and 8 of the same suit and 3 Sevens of the same suit.

The bonus payout mentioned below does not pay after splitting cards:
3 Sevens of the same suit, if the Dealer has a Seven face-up will give you a whopping payout of 50:1
