The one Blackjack game rule that dominates Atlantic City is the Late Surrender rule and as such no matter which casino you visit in this vacation hot spot you will find it being offered.
Late Surrender can be taken after the Dealer has checked for Blackjack, and by taking it you will lose half your wager and be removed from that particular hand.
At the last count Atlantic City has 14 casinos, with over 43,000 gaming machines and over 1400 table games in total, and with over 35 million visitors each year there is no shortage
of gaming action anytime of the day or night.
Number Of Decks:
Atlantic City Blackjack uses eight full decks of playing cards.
Splitting Rules:
The maximum number of times you can Split is three and by doing so you will be playing a maximum of four hands.
You may Split Aces just the once but only one card will be dealt to a split Ace, should you get dealt a ten to a split Ace then this hand is not a Blackjack but a 21 hand.
Any two cards that have the same value or denomination may be split and that includes ten valued cards.
Doubling Down Rules:
After you have been dealt your first two cards you may choose to Double Down irrespective of what cards you are holding, you may also double down after splitting cards
Dealer Play:
The Dealer will stand on all 17 hands, and being a hole card game the Dealer will peek and check for Blackjack when he is holding either a Ten or an Ace.
If you are playing this game online then be aware that the Dealer always shuffles the cards before the game begins.
Payout and House Edge:
A Blackjack hand pays 3 to 2, and a winning Insurance bet pays 2-1.
The house edge of the Atlantic City game is 0.36%.
Atlantic City Blackjack - Hint and Tips
Using Late Surrender should be looked upon as a way to lower the house edge and it is critical you only take it when perfect strategy calls for it.
Correct strategy dictates that the time to accept it is when you are holding a hand that totals 16 and the Dealer has a 9, 10 or an eleven, or when you have a fifteen with the Dealer holding a Ten.
So whatever you do don't go mad and start surrendering any other hand, if you do then you are making a massive strategy blunder!
If you get dealt and pair of Aces in Atlantic City Blackjack then you should always, without exception split them, if you are holding a pair of tens then make sure you always stands and don't be tempted
to split them.
Don't get fazed if you are dealt a pair of two's or three's, simply see what the Dealer is holding and if it is a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 then split them if the Dealer is holding any
other card then simply hit your hand.
