Too often we hear stories about those that play blackjack or poker or slot machines, the list goes on and on; that could not control their gambling habits. Normally we hear the story about how someone worked for their company and stole from them and eventually were either caught or turned themselves in before being caught. Then there are those that were running their own illegal casinos and decided to run a blackjack ring for them and their friends. This then might have led to a few other people joining and the next thing you know you have quite a gambling operation going on there. But since it is small no one thinks much of it, until the police bust it and you are off to jail.

The people who get judged are always at the mercy of the court and hopefully they will get a sympathetic judge who will not throw the book at them. But what if you are the judge and you are the one running the blackjack ring?

This is the case with Judge Harold L. who is 69 years old. The judge has been arrested and charged with conspiracy, promotion of gambling, and running and illegal enterprise among other charges. He was running an illegal casino and two of his former card room operators have testified against the judge in order to get lessened sentences.

He will be spending time in jail, but it is not known exactly how long. His biggest problem is going to be the fact that he knows the law and that he was running this illegal gambling anyway – when he had the authority to know write from wrong and punish those that did the latter.
